During these long, cold days of winter, I find myself often dreaming of warmer days that I can do some work on my 1959 Mid-Jet trailer, that needs lots of TLC!  Since I can't get out to work on it I'm doing what I can, looking at other enthusiast's finished projects on the internet. It really can be a motivator, to see their before and afters, and know that you can do the same!  I enjoy all the great pictures on www.pinterest.com, just search for vintage trailers and you will find oodles of pics which will help spark decorating ideas for your rig.
Tin Can Tourists www.tincantourists.com has a lot of great pictures, as well as, information on rallys that you can attend. I haven't been to one yet, but I'm looking forward to the day when I can take my trailer out on its maiden voyage. One I'm particularly interested in is, The West Texas Round-Up being held in Santo, TX at the Coffee Creek RV Resort they are going to be having a meet and greet, open house, pot luck dinner, great texas bbq, Trailer trash gift swap, and much more. Door prizes,(tct merchandise and western and texas style gifts . Sounds like a "rootin tootin" good time! For more information contact Teresa Archer at tearcher63@gmail.com
This time of year is a great time to gather parts and accessories for your trailer. I'm waiting for my hubby to help me put in the new glass we got for my trailers windows...hint....hint...I hope he reads this! Vintage Trailer Supply is a good place to buy parts and accessories, I'm wanting to get an awning from them in the future. Here's the link to their site http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com
I also look regularly on craigslist for things my trailer needs, you never know what you'll find there!
Stay Warm & Keep Dreaming!!

  1. Hi Shelley! I'm not sure if I have been in touch with you, but I bought a 1956 Mid-Jet trailer about four months ago and am trying to decide which direction to go in when I fix it up. It is in pretty decent condition, but first it needs deep cleaning. I live in west central Texas, near Sweetwater, TX, and I was interested to see that you mentioned the Sisters on the Fly gathering at Coffee Creek. I went to the trailer Open House last Saturday, and it was really great. I joined SotF just before I found my Mid-Jet. Anyway, please be in touch if you would like to chat about Mid-Jets.
